It was way back in the late sixties that I first discovered the sound of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. Still at school, I saved my modest earnings from a part time weekend job so that I could buy their latest single or album as soon as it was released. At a time when most of my peers were listening to the sounds emanating from Liverpool, I remained a staunch fan of the music from New Jersey.
The idea of creating a live tribute to this iconic band had been in the back of my mind for many years however it was only in 2006 during a period when Frankie was rarely seen performing live in the UK that I decided to try to make this happen. Well two years later, after auditioning the length and breath of the UK I had found my cast and my production team and we set to work to create the definitive tribute. After a lot of hard work and sleepless nights our first performance was at The Futurist Theatre, Scarborough on 10th April 2008. A huge success and we had hit the ground running!
Now, a year later, after one or two cast changes and numerous “tweaks” to the production and presentation we find ourselves with a busy tour diary and a growing army of loyal “friends”.
There are a few people that I must extend enormous thanks to:
Pierce Tee, our musical director who has written all the musical and vocal arrangements and in doing so has managed to retain the essence of the original sound whilst using the latest technology to provide a contemporary edge.
Carole Todd, our stage director who has the patience of a saint! Carole devised and directed the visual interpretation of the music for our live show. Whilst, undoubtedly taking a few liberties along the way in relation to reproducing an original Four Season’s concert, what Carole has created is truly entertaining.
Of course, I must also thank our very talented cast Damion, Adam, Joe and Will together with our great band of musicians for all their input which has been well above the call of duty. Also my thanks to our vital support team which includes Julie Whitombe, our publicist; Linda Brian, our financial controller and my General Manager Trevor Kaye.
Finally, I must really thank my wife, Cheryl, and my children for their continuing support. I don’t know how many times they have seen the show, but like me they never seem to tire of listening to our re-creation of the iconic sound of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons.
Please browse around this site and do feel free to email me personally with any comments or suggestions. I hope we will meet at one of our future shows.
